In my last year of college, my advertising professor posed a challenge
Create a personal brand. To complete the assignment I asked everyone I knew for suggestions on a single word that describes me. Suggestions included vine, sharp, and 精 (pronounced jing). My friend Craig said it means skill, purity, essential, and smart.
These were generous ideas, but they didn’t feel quite right. With some time and effort, I came up with inspire.
Many years later, inspiration is still my primary goal. I believe that powerful communication, whether it’s a novel or a blog post, can help people while also inspiring them to act. Great communication can make everything feel easier. That’s especially important when everyday life feels very complicated.
